I help people discover their passion through hobbies in Lithuania
For over a decade, I've been connecting people with meaningful creative pursuits — from pottery studios in Vilnius to birdwatching at Žuvintas. Real experiences. Real experts. Real transformation.
How I fell in love with Lithuanian hobbies
I didn't set out to become a hobbies guide. It happened by accident, really. Back in 2011, I'd just graduated from Vilnius University with a degree in Cultural Heritage and Arts Education. I was working as a cultural tourism consultant, showing visitors around the city. But here's the thing — they'd always ask the same questions: Where can I actually learn to make pottery? Are there photography groups that don't feel like exclusive clubs? How do you spot birds at Žuvintas without feeling lost?
The answers weren't easy to find. So I started exploring on my own. I took pottery classes with local masters in Vilnius. I joined photography clubs. I spent early mornings at Žuvintas with ornithologists learning to identify species. I visited traditional amber workshops where families have been crafting for generations. What struck me wasn't just how good these experiences were — it was how isolated people felt trying to find them. Locals and visitors alike didn't know where to start.
That gap bothered me. By 2014, I'd made the shift from tourism consulting to content creation. I wanted to build a bridge between people looking for meaningful hobbies and the actual experts, studios, and communities that could teach them. It wasn't glamorous work at first. I was writing on small platforms, building relationships one pottery teacher at a time, spending weekends documenting birdwatching expeditions. But something was clicking. People weren't just reading guides — they were actually showing up to classes, joining clubs, discovering things about themselves they didn't expect.
Over the past 12 years, I've worked with master potters, photography directors, conservation experts at Žuvintas, and traditional craftspeople. That work has evolved into my role at Aukseneva Ltd, where I now lead content strategy for helping both locals and visitors explore Lithuania's rich hobby landscape. But the core mission hasn't changed: give people the confidence and knowledge to try something new.
What I know deeply
My expertise comes from hands-on experience and real relationships with Lithuania's creative communities.
Pottery & Ceramics
I've trained with master potters across Vilnius and worked directly with instructors offering beginner classes. I understand what actually works for people picking up clay for the first time, from hand techniques to kiln processes.
Photography Communities
I've connected with photography club directors in Vilnius, Kaunas, and Klaipėda. I know which groups welcome beginners, what equipment you actually need, and how to find your style without expensive gear.
Birdwatching & Nature
I've spent considerable time at Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve with ornithologists and conservation experts. I can guide you through species identification, seasonal migration patterns, and ethical birdwatching practices.
Traditional Crafts
Amber jewelry, traditional weaving, woodworking — I've built relationships with craftspeople whose families have practiced these trades for generations. I understand both the heritage and the practical steps to learn.

What I believe in
Real experts, real places
I don't write about hobbies in the abstract. Everything I recommend comes from actual relationships with verified instructors, workshop owners, and community leaders. You're not getting theory — you're getting directions to real people who'll teach you properly.
Beginner-friendly guidance
I remember what it felt like to be completely new to pottery, photography, and birdwatching. My guides start with the basics because that's where most people are. You don't need experience or expensive equipment to begin — you just need clarity.
Practical steps, not inspiration
I'm not here to tell you that hobbies will change your life (though they might). I'm here to tell you exactly where to sign up, what to bring, what to expect on day one, and how to know if it's right for you. Concrete information beats motivational speeches.
Honoring tradition
Lithuania has incredible craft traditions — amber work, weaving, ceramics that go back generations. Part of my work is making sure these skills don't disappear, and that people understand the cultural significance behind what they're learning.
Guides I've written
These guides reflect my core areas of expertise and the communities I work with most closely.

Read the GuideWhy hobbies matter more than you think
Hobbies aren't just ways to kill time. They're how we connect with ourselves, our communities, and our culture. When you learn pottery, you're not just learning a technique — you're joining a tradition that goes back centuries in Lithuania. When you join a photography club, you're building relationships with people who see the world differently than you do. When you watch birds at Žuvintas, you're participating in conservation and science.
I've watched people discover confidence through creative work. I've seen families bond over learning a craft together. I've seen locals reconnect with cultural traditions they didn't know existed. That's what keeps me writing guides and building relationships with instructors and communities.
The barrier isn't interest or capability — it's knowing where to start. And that's exactly what I'm here for.
